How I progressed from second-line support to becoming a DevOps engineer.
Supporting the Money and Pensions Service Pensions Dashboards Programme as part of a DevOps team. My work includes supporting infrastructure changes, deployment activities and automation across public-cloud environments alongside experienced engineers.
Built my technical foundation supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, SQL, VPN and firewall access, server checks and other operational support tasks. The role developed the troubleshooting habits I now apply to infrastructure work.
Joined the CoderCo programme to develop practical DevOps skills through structured learning, hands-on projects and live labs. This gave me experience across Linux, cloud infrastructure, containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and Kubernetes.
